AKRON, Ohio — Three people were displaced and 10 cats rescued after a house fire in Akron.
According to the Akron Fire Department, firefighters responded to a house fire on the 700 block of Salida Street at 3:11 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
When they arrived, they found a residential structure with heavy fire and smoke billowing out of the second floor. Fire crews were able enter the house and extinguish the fire from within.
While inside of the residence, crews were able to recover 10 cats.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced from the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
