TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: The above video originally aired Jan. 17.
Yet another Ohio Department of Transportation snow plow has been struck by a vehicle while working to clear snow on Ohio's roads.
The latest crash -- the 15th snow plow strike this year -- involved a vehicle and a snow plow in Ottawa County, according to ODOT spokesperson Kelsie Hoagland.
Details about the crash, including the exact location or time were unavailable Tuesday, but Hoagland said everyone involved will be okay.
Since Jan. 7, the agency reported that 15 ODOT snow plows have been struck by other vehicles.
Department officials have urged the driving public to be more cautious on snowy roads where plows may be at work. Slow down, don't crowd snow plows and be extra careful, they have said.
Matt Bruning of ODOT tweeted about a previous incident last week.
“Folks, I can't stress this enough: Pay attention and give our crews room to work,” he wrote in his post. “There is NO reason for anyone to be hitting snowplows.”
ODOT officials have urged drivers to be extra cautious when it comes to distracted driving. Since a series of winter storms have brought snow and ice to the state beginning earlier this month, ODOT officials have warned drivers to be extra careful when driving in winter weather and to pay particular attention when driving around snow plows.
