FAYETTE, Ohio — A 22-year-old from Archbold died Tuesday evening in a crash with a semi-truck in Fulton County.
Quiyonna McGirt was driving a sedan northbound on County Road 23 near Fayette just after 6:30 p.m. when she did not yield at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. Route 20, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A semi-truck being driven by a 47-year-old from Kentucky west on U.S. 20 struck McGirt's vehicle when it entered the intersection. Both vehicles overturned.
McGirt was pronounced dead at the scene, according to OSHP.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
OSHP says safety belts and impaired driving do not appear to be factors in the crash.
