Armed robbery in Monroe Township early Saturday morning

Three men, two of them with handguns, robbed 43-year-old male

MONROE, Michigan — On Saturday morning a 43-year-old man was confronted by three men, two of them with handguns, and after allegedly robbing him, ran off behind a shopping center.

On Saturday morning at approximately 3:30 a.m., Sheriff Tory Goodnough reports an armed robbery on the 1100 block of South Monroe Street at the Kroger Plaza, in Monroe Township.

The victim was sleeping in his vehicle at the time before being awakened by a man pounding on his door. The victim got out of his vehicle where he was confronted by three men.

Two were armed with handguns and demanded the victim’s wallet. 

The victim’s name is unknown and was not injured during the robbery.

The three suspects have not been identified and the incident remains under investigation.
