TOLEDO, Ohio — The autopsy results have been released for the body found in a burned-out car in east Toledo.
The Lucas County Coroner identified the body as 20-year-old Josiah Gill. The autopsy revealed the cause of death as a single gunshot wound to the head.
The coroner's office classified the manner of death as a homicide and said that Gill was not alive during the fire.
Toledo Fire & Rescue received a call around 2:10 a.m. on Nov. 9 for a car on fire near I-280 northbound at the Front Street exit ramp. The car was found in a grassy area underneath the Veterans Glass City Skyway Bridge.
After TFRD crews extinguished the blaze, they found the body of Gill inside the vehicle.
Josiah's mother, Bonnie Gill, told WTOL 11, "We're hoping to make a plea if anyone has information, to come forward."
