Bicyclist struck, killed by car in Wood County

The bicyclist, identified as Andrew Bell, 32 of Findlay, was airlifted to the hospital where they later died.

RUDOLPH, Ohio — A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car in Wood County early Monday evening after failing to stop at an intersection, according to authorities.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office said the bicyclist, identified as Andrew Bell 32, of Findlay, was not wearing a helmet and riding northbound on the Slippery Elm Trail and entered the roadway on state Route 281 about one mile south of Rudolph. An SUV driving eastbound on the state route then struck the bicyclist.

Bell was airlifted to the hospital where he later died.

The sheriff's office says the crash is still under investigation.
