BLISSFIELD, Mich. — Police are investigating a death in Blissfield, Michigan that coincided with one arrest and the seizure of suspected narcotics.
According to a press release from the Village of Blissfield Police Department, officers responded to a location on Nov. 7 regarding an unconscious person. Authorities on scene located 34-year-old Paul Jones, who was first found unconscious and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said in the press release a cause and manner of death for Jones is still under investigation pending an autopsy and toxicology report by the Lenawee County Medical Examiner.
Law enforcement, including officers from the Michigan State Police Region of Irish Hills Narcotics Office, investigated the incident. One person was arrested, and authorities seized what was described in the press release as "numerous" handguns, rifles and cash.
Police did not identify the person arrested in the press release, nor did they specify with what they had been charged. Additionally, the location of the death, arrest and seizure were not specified in the press release.
Police also said they also seized suspected narcotics, including heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. The total estimated street value of the suspected drugs seized was $100,000, police said.
