TOLEDO, Ohio — The assistant principal of a south Toledo elementary school has been placed on paid administrative leave "due to an alleged violation of the district's code of professional conduct," according to a statement on Tuesday from Toledo Public Schools.
The district said it could not provide further details about why John Preston was placed on leave "because of TPS personnel policies." He has been on leave since Aug. 26, according to TPS Board of Education documents.
Preston will remain on leave pending the outcome of an investigation and has been replaced by another administrator for its duration. The district did not give a timeline for the investigation.
The Board of Education also formally voted Tuesday evening to place Preston on leave.
Preston's salary at the school on South Avenue, just north of Airport Highway, is $114,552.
