TOLEDO, Ohio — Two fundraisers will be held at Central Catholic High School to benefit the head girls basketball coach's 4-year-old son who is battling cancer.
The fundraisers, held on Monday, Jan. 29 and Tuesday, Jan. 30, will benefit Corri Stanley's son, Colton, in his fight against T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.
On Monday during the school day, CCHS students and staff who donate $1 are invited to dress down in their #ColtonStrong shirts or Irish spirit wear.
Then that evening, a 50/50 raffle and special basket raffle will be held at the Sullivan Center for the girls basketball game against Perrysburg at 7:30 p.m. Colton and the Stanley family will participate in an honorary jump ball before the game, and Colton will be presented with a custom basketball and a $500 check from Parker's Purpose.
On Tuesday, another 50/50 and basket raffle will take place for the boys basketball game against St. John's at 7:30 p.m. at the Sullivan Center.
“We are excited to share our love for Colton, Corri, and the whole Stanley family, especially because what we have planned allows us the opportunity to make an impact beyond our immediate student body,” said Central Catholic Principal Morgan Delp. “We look forward to spreading the #ColtonStrong message within the community, and we think it will be two wonderful nights of unity with a purpose that transcends basketball. We invite all to attend to rally behind Colton and our beloved teacher and coach, as we aim to sell out both games.”
All raffle and 50/50 tickets will be sold for $1 each during the first three quarters of both games and then the winners will be announced before the fourth quarter. All proceeds from both fundraisers will be presented to the Stanley family.
The raffle baskets, donated by CCHS' faculty and staff, include themes such as Toledo/419, game night, kitchen tools, snow day, CCHS athletics, coffee, lottery tree, family fun night and spa day.
