TOLEDO, Ohio — After two months of learning virtually because of the pandemic, Central Catholic High School leaders have announced that they plan to resume in-person classes in the fall.
Board of Trustees Chairman, Mike Boyle, said they made this announcement after carefully considering all options. Boyle acknowledged that those plans could change depending on what guidelines are set by the state and the Diocese of Toledo.
Currently, school leaders are working on what social distancing and other procedures would look like to get learning close to what it was before the pandemic.
"The scenario everybody wants is to be back in the classroom so that we can provide that Central Catholic experience to our students. Being with and interacting with their teachers personally, with their friends, being able to resume extracurricular activities," Boyle said.
Since the announcement to resume in-person teaching, Boyle said he's heard a lot of positive comments, although, he families and staff have a mutual understanding that their plans are not set in stone just yet.
All of this still relies on what Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine decides schools can do in regard to them returning in August.
