TOLEDO, Ohio — A central Toledo home has been rendered uninhabitable for the foreseeable future due to a fire Monday evening, Toledo Fire & Rescue crews at the scene told WTOL 11.
No one was injured and the occupants of the home on Buckingham Street, between Hawley and Hoag streets, were not at home at the time of the fire.
TFRD crews had to force entry into the locked home after fire was seen coming out of the front door and a first floor window and cut holes in the roof for ventilation.
Some fire and smoke reached the second floor and the house sustained heavy damage but is not a total loss.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
