Cherry Street Mission Revitalization Center reopened after water line repaired

Cherry Street Mission says although the center was closed, food service and shelter was provided to guests with no interruption.

TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE: On Saturday, the Cherry Street Mission says a water line issue that had forced the temporary closure of their Life Revitalization Center has been repaired and the building is now open to guests.

Original story:

Two Toledo charities are being impacted by a water pipe issue.

The Cherry Street Mission's Life Revitalization Center, located at 1501 Monroe St., will be closed through Friday. Men's and women's residential facilities are operating as normal and are offering hot meals and shelter.

Connecting Kids to Meals is also affected. The CEO told WTOL 11 they will not be able to feed kids for the remainder of this week.

Staff there are working hard to get as much food out the door as possible before they have to leave when repair work begins. The weekend bags project with Owens Corning should not be affected as libraries and the Boys and Girls Club will be receiving those Thursday.

Donations can still be dropped off at the Cherry Street Mission using the main north entrance.
