TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Department of Public Utilities is set to launch a new water customer portal to manage bills, make payments and review account history.

The city said the "MyTOL" portal, available online and through a mobile app, will launch on Oct. 21 and be available for customers to register. The MyTOL mobile app will also be available for download in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

According to the city, the online billing portal will be unavailable on Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. while upgrades are made. The city said customers whose bills are due before the new portal is available on Oct. 21 will need to find an alternative payment method.

"MyTOL gives Toledo water customers greater control and flexibility over managing their accounts. The MyTOL portal and app make it easy to handle everything—from paperless billing to text-to-pay—with just a few clicks. The portal provides full transparency into water usage, offering new ways to manage water consumption and set notifications," the city said in a press release.

The new portal and its upgrades should not cause any issues with the six other water bill payment methods, including drop boxes, paying through mail, bank payment and kiosks at locations like Scott Park, according to Cindy Geronimo with the city of Toledo's Department of Utilities.

"We are just super excited about just making sure that people have all of these methods," Geronimo said.

The city said customers who need assistance during the transition can call 419-245-1800, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. More information can also be found here.
