Clyde police: Person abandons, tries to sink boat in city's water reservoir

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clyde Police Department at 419-547-9555.

CLYDE, Ohio — Police in Clyde are searching for information regarding a person who abandoned a boat in the city's drinking water supply Friday, according to a social media post from the department.

In the post, the department said the suspect abandoned a boat in the city's reservoir, which serves as the primary source for supplying public drinking water. The vessel's engine was still filled with oil, and police claim the boat's plugs were pulled, indicating the suspect had intended to sink the boat.
