Community shows support for infant whose parents were killed in Wood County crash Saturday

People and businesses have organized fundraisers that will help benefit the 9-month-old baby left behind after the fatal crash.

NORTHWEST, Ohio — On Dec. 9, Jacob Hahn and his fiance, Savannah Harding, were involved in a fatal crash on Fremont Pike in Wood County.

The tragic crash left behind their 9-month-old son, Beckett. The surrounding community quickly responded, organizing fundraisers and donating profits to support the family.

"The support for this family is unreal which is what we're all about in these small communities," said Michael DeStazio, the owner of DeSTAZio's.

The restaurant in Elmore is donating 100% of their profits on Tuesday to aid the cause.

Rayz Cafe in Genoa, Unvaulted Treasures in Luckey and others are also donating to the family. Many shared that they were heartbroken over the situation and hope that the generosity shown will make a continuing difference in Beckett's life.

"This kid is going to grow up not knowing his parents and, obviously, parents have to take care of their kids and I just feel like anyone that's a parent or has a heart, everyone can relate to this," said Issac St. Marie, the co-owner of Rayz Cafe.

Rayz Cafe plans on donating 10% of food sales on Wednesday to Beckett.

The businesses participating state that while money is helpful, the family is also asking for items like formula, diapers (size 3 and up), wipes and more.

To donate, you can visit the businesses at these locations:

  • DeSTAZio's - 351 Rice St. Elmore, OH 43616
  • Rayz Cafe - 608 Main St. Genoa, OH 43430
