HB Concerts Inc. will not return for Toledo summer concert series; Now what?

ConnecToledo discussed what community members can expect after the announcement that HB Concerts will no longer host a summer concert series at Promenade Park.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo's downtown revitalization efforts are set to continue gaining momentum in 2025. According to Paul Toth, president of ConnecToledo, a major upcoming change is the departure of the HB Concert Series from Promedica’s Promenade Park.

Toth shared plans to revamp events at the venue, stating that ConnecToledo would like to see the park more active than just 5 to 6 times a year.

“People want more than just five events a year,” Toth explained, emphasizing the goal is to create a vibrant, year-round destination out of Toledo. The events will be organized by ConnecToledo, with support from corporate sponsors and the city of Toledo.

The updated events, likely to be named Rally at the River or Party in the Park, will feature local bands, family activities, and performances, revitalizing the downtown area with free public events throughout the year, similar to HB Concert series that have been hosted in summers past.

An official announcement is expected in the upcoming spring, once details are finalized on the events.

Additionally, a new building for Toledo farmers' market is in the works near the Erie Street Market. Toth said he envisions this space not only for fresh produce, but as an event hub extending the market’s appeal beyond Saturdays.
