The propane cylinder, which is used to heat the tracks, was too close to the tracks and was was knocked over by a train, according to Lake Twp. fire.
By 8:48, the cylinder was turned off and the leak was stopped.
Lake Twp. fire says no one was injured and there is no danger to the public.
People were asked to stay away from the area near Ayers and Drouillard Roads while crews dealt with the issue.
Crews utilized a drone to survey the scene.
