MONROE COUNTY, Michigan — A Detroit man was killed in a motorcycle crash on I-75 in Monroe County Tuesday morning, according to Michigan State Police.
MSP said they were dispatched to northbound I-75 near mile marker 26 in Berlin Township at approximately 5:43 a.m. for a two-vehicle crash.
According to MSP, the operator of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old man from Detroit, was traveling northbound on I-75 when he struck the rear of a northbound service truck. MSP said the 53-year-old was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the service truck were not injured. Michigan State Police said the operator of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
