BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — It will be a "dog-day afternoon" at Ridge Park in Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 14.
That’s because the Friends of BG Dog Parks will be holding a pop-up dog park event at the site of the future permanent dog park.
A huge fenced-in play area will be host to dogs and their owners from 1-4 p.m. at 225 Ridge St.
Dogs at the park will be required to be licensed, fully vaccinated, responsive to commands and non-aggressive.
In addition, it will be the responsibility of owners to supervise their dogs at all times.
There will be dog-themed face painting, a best-dressed dog and talent show contest including prizes.
The event will also help educate owners on the importance of practicing good dog park etiquette.
Zoom Room and Planned Pethood will also be handing out information.
Water bowls will be provided as well as dog toys and some lawn chairs.
But it’s not all for fun. The group is hoping to raise money too.
A 50/50 raffle will help raise money for the Friends of BG Dog Parks.
In the event of rain, the event will take place on Sept. 21.
It is anticipated that the construction on the permanent dog park at Ridge Park could begin this fall.
