SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — West Alexis Road had to be closed down at Roberts Rd. in Sylvania Twp. on Saturday evening after a utility pole was knocked over.
The pole was knocked down when it was struck by a pickup truck around 8 p.m.
Police originally closed Alexis in both directions but eventually opened eastbound traffic while Toledo Edison crews worked to secure the downed power lines. Roberts Road was also closed.
It’s unclear what caused the driver to strike the pole. Their condition is unknown at this time.
It's likely a new power pole will need to replace the one that was knocked over.
