TOLEDO, Ohio — Have you checked your medicine cabinet lately? If you have unused or expired medications, an upcoming community event can help you clear some space the right way.
With a call to action to keep drugs off the street, local authorities have announced that Toledo's next community Drug Take Back Day will be Oct. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Collection sites will accept a variety of medications, including pet medications, for safe and environmentally friendly disposal. The goal is to provide a free, anonymous way to keep medications off the streets that may be commonly abused or otherwise disposed of improperly.
The collection sites will accept narcotics, over-the-counter medications, pet medications, prescription drugs and vitamins. Some sites will accept syringes and liquid medications, but you are encouraged to call first to confirm.
Collection sites will not accept inhalers, ointments or lotions. Commercial or medical vendors will not be accepted.
