TOLEDO, Ohio — Five people were injured when a car fleeing from police crashed into a TARTA bus in east Toledo Thursday night.
At about 9:41 p.m., Toledo police were pursuing a car, driven by Anthony Morgan, 39, traveling west on Navarre Avenue near Oak Street. A TARTA bus traveling north on Oak Street was moving through the intersection when the driver of the car ran the red light and struck the bus.
The TARTA bus then rotated clockwise and hit an unoccupied white pickup truck that was parked on the street.
Officials at the scene told WTOL 11 that Morgan sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized.
The bus driver and three passengers sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital, according to a press release.
It is unclear why police were pursuing Morgan.
