East Toledo home damaged in fire

There were no injuries in the fire. It is unclear at this time if the home, which is occupied and sustained significant damage to the front, is a total loss.

TOLEDO, Ohio — An east Toledo home sustained significant damage in a fire Monday night, Toledo Fire & Rescue crews at the scene told WTOL 11.

There were no injuries in the fire at the home on Walden Avenue, between Nevada Street and Starr Avenue. Crews responded to the fire just before 11 p.m.

The home, which TFRD says is occupied, sustained damage to the front, but it is unclear at this time if the home is a total loss. A neighboring home also sustained heat damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

TFRD told WTOL 11 that a person inside the home said they heard a loud noise followed by a burst of fire toward the front of the house.
