A 45-year-old from Sandusky is dead after a crash in Erie County on Sunday morning.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says John Donald was driving his car west on West Mason Road just west of Harris Road south of Sandusky around 6:10 a.m. when he crossed the centerline and went off the south side of the road.
Mr. Donald’s car then struck a fire hydrant and a fence post before overturning. Donald died as a result of his injuries in the crash, according to OSHP.
The circumstances that led up to the crash are still unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
