SYLVANIA, Ohio — UPDATE: Donald Christian was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury on Wednesday, Aug. 14 on four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of operating a vehicle while under the influence.

The Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a pedestrian crash that occurred on Saturday, July 13.
According to authorities, the crash happened on Centennial Road near Erie Street at 10:54 p.m.
Responding officers state that a 54-year-old man from Lyons, Donald Christian, was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on Centennial Road when he struck two pedestrians who were in the road.
Emergency responders reported that the driver of the Jeep and a passenger were on scene for medical injuries.
The two pedestrians were transported to a local hospital. OSHP states one victim, identified as Therese Fern, 66, of Swanton died due to her injuries.
Investigators said the second victim, identified as a 78-year-old man from Swanton, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries immediately following the crash. The 78-year-old, Don Fern, later died from his injuries, according to the victim's family.
Christian was booked into the Lucas County Jail and is charged with two counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide. A judge set his bond at $130,000. If he posts bond, he is required to wear a GPS monitoring device.
