FULTON COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — One person was killed and another was injured after a head-on crash involving two semis on the Ohio Turnpike in Fulton County Sunday night.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a semi driven by Nikola Dobprosavljevic, 39, of Texas, was traveling eastbound on the Turnpike just after 7:30 p.m. in Dover Township when his left front tire blew.
OSHP said Dobprosavljevic crossed the grass median and struck a semi operated by Anvar Azimov, 40, of Pennsylvania. Azimov died at the scene.
Dobprosavljevic's semi overturned after impact. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
According to OSHP, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The westbound lanes of the Turnpike were shut down for approximately four hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
