WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — One person is dead and another is hospitalized with serious injuries following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon in Wood County.
The crash happened at 4 p.m. on the Ohio Turnpike near I-280 in Lake Township, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
An initial investigation determined that 58-year-old Kenny L. Robinson, of Mt. Sterling, Ky., was driving a motorcycle westbound on the turnpike when the motorcycle's tire blew out. Robinson lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, the state patrol said.
The passenger on the motorcycle, a 58-year-old also from Kentucky, was seriously injured in the crash and taken to the hospital by air ambulance.
Robinson died at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
