FINDLAY, Ohio — The Findlay plant of a German technology manufacturer is permanently closing and laying off approximately 235 employees, according to a notice on Friday.
The notice, filed per the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, does not say why the ZF Active Safety US Inc plant on Production Drive in Findlay is closing.
A list of the affected employees and their jobs is also not provided, but ZF, which according to its website is based in Germany and has a U.S. headquarters in the Detroit metro area, says in the notice the "expected date of the first separation due to the closing" is Nov. 1.
It is unclear if any of the affected employees will be offered jobs at any other ZF facilities.
The company has multiple locations in Michigan and a location in Independence, Ohio, just south of Cleveland, according to its website.
ZF specializes in "automated driving, electromobility, vehicle motion control and integrated safety systems," its website says.
