Fire destroys garage at vacant north Toledo home

It's unknown what started the fire behind the home.

Fire destroyed a garage in the 1000 block of N. Michigan St. on Sunday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Fire and Rescue firefighters were busy extinguishing a fire at a vacant home in north Toledo on Sunday afternoon.

The fire took place in the 1000 block of North Michigan Street around 3:45 p.m.

When firefighters arrived at the property, they found a garage on fire behind a home. The garage and a fence around the property were destroyed.

A tree was also burned.

No one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Toledo Fire and Rescue Department.

It’s unknown whether the tree will need to come down.
