TOLEDO, Ohio — A fire late Wednesday night destroyed a home in north Toledo and damaged another, according to Toledo Fire & Rescue crews at the scene.
The occupant of the house on Hausman Street, next to Lagrange Street, was not at home when the fire started. No injuries were reported.
A TFRD battalion chief told WTOL 11 crews responded to the fire, which started as a car fire in the backyard and then spread to the home, just before 11:30 p.m.
Firefighters had to be pulled out of the home while fighting the blaze due to safety reasons, according to TFRD.
An investigator has been called to the scene and the remainder of the home will be torn down. The extent of the damage to the neighboring home is unclear at this time.
