FOSTORIA, Ohio — Fostoria Police have ruled the death of a 66-year-old man as a homicide.
The man was found on Saturday when officers were dispatched to a home on the 700 block of Circle Drive on a report of an undressed female throwing items out onto the front yard of the residence.
Police say officers on the scene found a male who was unconscious and not breathing. The Fostoria Fire Department was called and when crews arrived at the residence, the man was pronounced dead.
The man was identified as Lary Cole, a resident of the home. Police say the woman was taken from the scene and is currently being held at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital in Toledo.
An autopsy was conducted by the Lucas County Coroner's Office for the Seneca County Coroner and determined the death was a homicide.
Due to the circumstances, police say they will continue to move forward with the investigation and interview the necessary individuals associated with the case.
"As with any criminal investigation, it is critical that all of the facts and evidence are collected and processed for a competent product to be presented to the prosecutor," said Fostoria Police chief Keith Loreno.
There have been no charges filed at this time.
