FOSTORIA, Ohio — People will have to wait a little longer to cool down at the splash pad that was planned for City Park in Fostoria.
The city says construction will have to be delayed after there were no construction bids that came in under the anticipated budget for the current design.
The city says specifications for the project will need to be reexamined before another round of bidding can occur.
As a result, it’s anticipated the construction and opening of the splash pad will not be able to occur until summer 2025.
Funds that were raised for the splash pad will be held by the city, according to a statement by the city of Fostoria on Friday.
In addition, over $600,000 in funds that were pledged for the projects from various grants will not be received by the city until construction is complete.
There are also plans for an inclusive playground to be built at City Park in 2025, according the the group Wood County Plays.
