TOLEDO, Ohio — The Franklin Park Mall is back open for business after part of the mall was shut down on Saturday morning.
Julie Sanderson, Marketing and Business Development Manager for the mall, says the closure was due to an "isolated situation" that needed to be cleared by Toledo Police.
The nature of the situation officers were investigating remains unclear but Sanderson says the "report was unfounded".
The Bath and Body Works store was closed for business around 11:30 a.m. while Toledo Police conducted its search of the mall, according to a witness in the mall. About twenty minutes later, the business was reopened.
Another witness said the Build-A-Bear store was also closed around the same time.
It’s unclear what other stores were affected.
Sanderson says the mall has reopened for normal business hours.
The complete statement is below:
Franklin Park Mall is committed to the safety of our guests and employees. Toledo Police Department was on site investigating an isolated situation at Franklin Park this morning. The scene has been cleared and the report was unfounded. Franklin Park Mall is open for normal business hours and will close at 8pm.
