TOLEDO, Ohio — UPDATE: On Dec. 3, Thomas White's mother reported in a Facebook post that Thomas was found and home safe.

The original story is below:

A search party is being organized for a Toledo person who has been missing since Nov. 7.

Thomas White, who also goes by Veridis Quo, was active on social media but their mother says she stopped seeing posts by them around that time.

Their mother last heard from them Nov. 6 on Facebook, according to a police report, and she was concerned based on some of White's Facebook posts and because White had recently been assaulted.

Toledo police performed a safety check on Nov. 13 and did not locate White.

The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office announced that White was missing Saturday afternoon.

White is 33-years-old. They are described as 5’5” with brown eyes and a chest tattoo that reads "Veridis Quo."

Friends, family and members of the LGBTQIA+ community gathered at the Main Library in downtown Toledo on Monday to look for White and put up flyers.

They broke into four groups to search locations where White was last seen, including Adams Street, Parkwood Avenue and local bars where White spent time with friends.

The group's goal was to gather information and hopefully add to the Toledo Police Department's investigation.

"They were always very active on social media and as of [Monday] they haven't been active since [Nov. 7] and that is very unlike them," said Caitlin McCorvey, a childhood friend of White's.

Stephanie Swan, White's mother, noted the adversity that the LGBTQIA+ community has faced and how she hoped 2023 would be a year of acceptance and progress.

"It was always that fear because people are not kind to people in that community," Swan said. "This community is a love community. If they are different than you, what difference does that make? You don't like someone because of who they are? That's who they are, accept them."

Thomas White was seen making a purchase at a Dollar General on Lagrange Street on Nov. 22, according to White's mother.

If you have any information about their whereabouts, please contact the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office at 419-213-4975.
