WTOL 11 to award community non-profits with grants through TEGNA Foundation

In 2023, three northwest Ohio organizations were awarded grants.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Applications are open for the 2024 TEGNA Foundation grants through its community grant program, awarded by WTOL 11 to local non-profits each year. 

The grants aim to provide deserving community organizations with funding. Community grants target grassroot organizations in the areas of social and human services, health and mental health, and benefiting the most disadvantaged people in our communities. 

To qualify, your organization's application must include the following:

  1. completed TEGNA Foundation Grant Application Form
  2. IRS letter of determination for 501(c)3 tax exemption
  3. your organization’s non-discrimination policy
  4. one-page project budget, and a one-page summary organizational budget
  5. project proposal of no more than three pages that includes:
    • needs statement
      • objectives of the project to be funded
      • whether the project is new or ongoing
      • constituency to be served
      • community and volunteer involvement
    • sustainability statement
      • your organization's qualifications to carry out the project
      • how the project will be evaluated
      • plans for continued funding, committed and applied for
  6. pertinent recent publications may also be included

The grants are not available to individuals, private foundations and for-profit organizations, among other disqualifying attributes. For more information, click here
