TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating multiple reports of gunfire striking city homes in recent days.
Gunfire erupted twice in the 1200 block of Yates Street in north Toledo Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
Police were initially alerted to gunfire in the area by the city's ShotSpotter system shortly after 9:30 p.m.. Officers who responded found a home in the 1200 block had been hit multiple times by gunfire.
No injuries were reported, but a 14-year-old who lives at the home told police that he had been in a fight on social media with an unknown suspect earlier in which the suspect threatened to shoot up his house, according to a report from Toledo police.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, the city's Shotspotter system alerted police to more gunfire several houses away from the initial shooting. No injuries or damage were reported in the second shooting.
In an unrelated incident, a west Toledo woman reported to police that she discovered a bullet hole in her Hoiles Avenue home Monday.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m. the woman who lives in the 3900 block of Hoiles Avenue reported to police she noticed a bullet hole near a window in her living room.
No one had been struck by the bullet and officers believe the bullet hole may have been caused by gunfire in the area reported to police two days earlier.
