HENRY COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed and two were hospitalized after a crash in Henry County Wednesday night.
According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office, a passenger car was traveling southbound on US Route 6 at approximately 9:35 p.m. in Harrison Township. Authorities said they determined the passenger failed to yield to the right of way to a semitruck traveling westbound on State Route 109.
The vehicles collided and injured both the driver and and front seat passenger of the passenger car. Both were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.
The back-seat passenger, identified in the press release as 21-year-old Katelynn Hinkle, of Lima, suffered fatal injuries. Hinkle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semitruck was treated on scene for injuries, then released.
The sheriff's office said the crash is still under investigation.
