Here’s how families can get the most out of any Mud Hens game

With Mud Hens season in full swing, how often are you planning on taking your kids down to Fifth Third Field?

TOLEDO (WTOL) - With Mud Hens season in full swing, how often are you planning on taking your kids down to Fifth Third Field?

A day at the old ball game: it’s a rite of passage for many here in northwest Ohio. So obviously, you’d expect parents to be willing to fork out the extra dollars to make sure their kids experience all there is to see at Fifth Third Field.

“Baseball is the national past time, getting downtown and seeing everybody and stuff is awesome,” said Michael Franks, who has attended four home openers with his son, Jacob.

“It’s an afternoon of family fun, you know, we get out together we get to do something and there’s something here for everybody. She loves coming in and getting snacks and treats, and eat, and watch the game and go play on the playground,” said Mike Bagley, who purchased a nine-game pass for the 2019 season.

The Toledo Mud Hens offer so many group or family packages to make sure parents feel like they get their money’s worth with every trip; including family fun packages, multiple game plans and fan experiences.

On top of that, a trick some parents said is the best way to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth is to make a full day out of the trip and take in a downtown restaurant or visit another family friendly business.

“I think it’s worth it here for a few hours for the game. You can walk around, there’s plenty of things to do even around downtown here. Go grab lunch,” said Laurie Mendel, a Toledo native who has moved back and loves bringing her kids to Fifth Third Field.

Are you worried you’re kids won’t be able to sit through all nine innings, or have a large group and don’t want all the seat tickets to add up? Get standing room only tickets. That way you’re free to mill about if your little ones get fidgety.

“We only got standing room only tickets, but they’re 13 bucks and you always can find a seat,” said Franks.
