TOLEDO, Ohio — An 11-year-old girl was able to save her family from an apartment fire by calling 911.
Police were called to a fire in progress at an apartment complex on Southard around 1:30 a.m. on Friday.
The 11-year-old advised crews that the residence was filled with smoke and she, her mother and her siblings, ages two and three, couldn't get out.

The mother and her children were escorted to safety; then officers worked to clear the building of all other tenants as Toledo Fire crews arrived on scene.
