Driver killed after striking barrier on I-475 Thursday night

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound.
The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One person was killed in a crash on I-475 in west Toledo Thursday evening. 

According to a press release from Toledo police, a 60-year-old driver was traveling westbound on I-475 near ProMedica Pkwy at approximately 7:41 p.m. Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled left across lanes of traffic, and struck a cement barrier. 

The driver was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead. 

Police said in the report they continue to investigate.
