MAUMEE, Ohio — A major traffic shift with lane closures along I-475 in southern Lucas County starts Saturday.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, southbound I-475 will be downsized to one lane starting at 6 a.m. to return southbound I-475 to its permanent alignment between Airport Highway and U.S. Route 24 in Maumee. All ramps along southbound will be closing for an hour each while road work occurs.
Ramp Closures and times to avoid them are:
- U.S. Route 24 ramps — 6-9 a.m.
- Dussel/Salisbury ramps — 8-11 a.m.
- Airport Highway ramps — 12-4 p.m.
While these closures take place, crews will be working on installing pavement tie-ins, striping, guardrails, signs and alignment changes. Northbound I-475 will remain open to two lanes for relocation of barrier wall and other paving and striping work, ODOT said.
Both directions of I-475 are expected to be completed and have three lanes each before the end of the year.
