TOLEDO, Ohio — Summer is just weeks away, meaning children will be going on summer break. For parents, that means trying to find something productive for their kids to do.
Starting in June, Imagination Station is offering Summer Camps for kids in hopes of teaching them skills they would learn in school in a more fun, interactive way.
Sutton Reekes, communication and media manager for Imagination Station, says kids can learn a lot at these camps.
"Our summer camps cover a wide range, and they're really focused on hands-on STEAM learning, and STEAM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. So you're guaranteed to have an interactive, immersive, exciting, and educational summer camp experience with us," Reekes explained.
The camp sessions offer different themes each week with different immersive experiences to show kids different career choices under the STEAM pathway. Having different themes will show attendees new information they may have never seen before.
Some camps will include topics such as Engineering, Filmmaking, Game Development, and Becoming a Scientist.
The 2024 Summer Camps are for kids ages 6 to 13 and will take place from the first week of June through the first week of July.
Reekes encourages parents to sign up as soon as possible because spots fill up quickly.
The camps cost $250 per week for Imagination Station members and $275 for non-members. Financial assistance will be available for those who qualify.
