TOLEDO, Ohio — The Jamie Farr Pool in north Toledo has been closed until further notice, a city of Toledo spokesperson said in an email Wednesday afternoon.
The closure is "due to mechanical issues," according to the city. The exact issues are not specified and an estimated reopening date was not provided.
The closure of the pool at 2000 N. Summit St. follows three other temporary city pool closures two weeks ago.
A central Toledo splash pad was also the subject of scrutiny as it was closed during an extreme heat wave last month. The splash pad at the Rev. H.V. Savage Park reopened in early July and is set to eventually be demolished and replaced with a new one after Toledo City Council last week approved $150,000 for a redesign and requested an additional $3 million in federal funding.
