TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County jury found a man not guilty of two counts of murder in the cold case investigation into his father's disappearance from north Toledo in 2017.

Timothy Darrow, 39, earlier was indicted by a grand jury for murder in the cold case missing persons investigation of his father, Alvin Darrow, according to court documents.

Alvin, then 63, disappeared from his home in the 320 block of Majestic Drive in north Toledo.

When Alvin's family reported him missing on July 28, 2017, they found his house left open. His dogs had not been cared for. His wallet and car were both still there.

"We want this to end," Alvin's sister, Cheryl Bonk, told WTOL 11 following his disappearance in 2017. "We want him found so that we can bury him properly and have a closing to this situation."

Timothy Darrow was already in jail for an unrelated assault that happened earlier in October. In November, he entered a plea of not guilty.

Alvin has never been located.
