LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Toledo County Canine Care & Control announced its third Snout & About public field trip.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The idea is modeled after the Dogs on the Town program, which allows LC4 volunteers to take dogs from the shelter on day-trip adventures into the community.
Snout & About opens up that same opportunity to explore Lucas County and Toledo to non-volunteers.
Dogs can be picked up at the shelter at 410 S. Erie Street.
To abide by safe social-distancing practices, each participant will be asked to stay in their vehicle in the parking space assigned by LC4 staff. Masks will also be required during pick up and drop off of the pup.
The shelter asks that the dogs be returned between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
There is no cost to take a dog on a field trip. Participants must provide photo identification and have a genuine love for dogs.
The staff will match dogs with individuals on a first-come first-serve basis. A collar, harness, leash, map of local parks, and a dog-goodie bag will be provided to all participants.
