11-year-old Liberty-Benton student hit by car in school parking lot

According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, the student was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — An 11-year-old Liberty-Benton student was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in the school parking lot Monday morning, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old was traveling northbound in the high school parking lot just before 7:30 a.m. when the child was struck.

According to the sheriff's office, the student was taken to the hospital for treatment but their condition was not provided in a press release.

The crash remains under investigation.
