TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: On Wednesday, the Lucas County Coroner's Office said Witcher's manner of death was natural. The cause of death was found to be atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with diabetes mellitus as an underlying condition.

An inmate at the Lucas County Corrections Center died Tuesday, according to a press release from the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said they found 46-year-old Robert Witcher unconscious in the dayroom of a housing unit on the sixth floor of the facility at approximately 7:10 p.m. Facility employees summoned a Life Squad to the location while rendering medical assistance to Witcher.
Paramedics pronounced Witcher dead at 8:03 p.m. The report did not provide details regarding the cause or means of death.
Witcher was being held in the corrections center on felony charges of domestic violence and assault, a misdemeanor count of menacing and parole violation.
The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation into the incident.
