TOLEDO, Ohio — Local businesses are still being affected by the global technology outage that happened last week.
Lucas County Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter said title offices have been trying to recover ever since having to close on Friday.
Blue screens with the word "recovery" are what Lucas County Title office computers have been stuck on since the CrowdStrike outage caused the global disruption on Friday to airlines, banks, hospitals and a range of other services around the world.
On Monday, the title offices were able to make some progress but are not yet back to normal.
"We walked in Monday morning, we have a couple of screens that are operating in each office, so we're limping along," Quilter said.
The office on Madison Avenue has been able to help customers with the two out of five computers that are working.
"I think recovery is going to be a little difficult with dealer work and with dealer titles and people that weren't able to be helped on Friday are coming in today," said Andrea Dhondt, chief deputy of Lucas County Auto Title on Heatherdowns Boulevard.
The title office is just one of many county and state offices affected in Ohio.
"This affected throughout the whole state, the driver's exam centers, it's happened to the deputy registrar's office who issues your license and your driver's license," Quilter said.
He said the Ohio Department of Public Safety's information technology team plans to go around to all the counties to reset the screens by the end of the day.
Quilter and Dhondt both say that after services are fully back up and running, the offices will more than likely have to catch up and work overtime.
