Man behind bars for allegedly starting fire at Tecumseh dollar store

Police say a 28-year-old Tecumseh resident intentionally start the fire at the Dollar General store

TECUMSEH, Mich. — A man is behind bars for arson-related charges after allegedly starting a fire at a Tecumseh dollar store Tuesday afternoon.

Tecumseh Police say they responded to a possible fire at the Dollar General store located on north Evans Street when they noticed a large amount of smoke from the building.

Officers evacuated employees from the building. No injuries were reported.

After investigating, reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, fire crews determined the fire was intentionally set by a "customer."

Police say they determined the alleged suspect tp be a 28-year-old Tecumseh resident. 

Additional charges are possible as the crews continue to investigate fire.
