LUNA PIER, Mich. — A Michigan man is dead after a crashing into a lagoon in Monroe County on Sunday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
52-year-old Robert Fuss, of Allegan, Michigan was driving south on Lakeshore Drive north of Luna Pier around 8:23 a.m. when the crash occurred.
The sheriff’s office says Fuss drove past the Avenue I intersection past the dead end of the roadway and into the lagoon.
The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
The sheriff’s office says when first responders arrived on the scene Fuss’ body was found outside the vehicle in the water “obviously deceased”.
Fuss’ body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
